What is a peristaltic pump?
A peristaltic pump is a type of positive displacement pump used for pumping a variety of fluids. Peristaltic pumps are also commonly known as roller pumps. The fluid is contained within a flexible tube fitted inside a circular pump casing.
What is a metering (or dosing) pump?
A metering pump, or dosing pump, moves a precise volume of liquid in a specified time period providing an accurate volumetric flow rate. Delivery of fluids in precise adjustable flow rates is sometimes called metering.
What is a positive displacement pump?
A positive displacement pump moves fluid by repeatedly enclosing a fixed volume and moving it mechanically through the system. The pumping action is cyclic and can be driven by pistons, screws, gears, rollers, diaphragms or vanes.
